Tertiary programme 2010
Janet Lilo made the visits to tertiary institutions; visiting AUT, ELAM, MSVA, Unitec and Whitecliffe in Auckland and Victoria and Massey Universities in Wellington.
Tertiary Trip, 18 June – 20 June
Tautai with the support from AUT, Elam, MSVA and Unitec took a bus load of 22 current tertiary students to Wellington to attend Cerisse Palalagi’s opening of Motunei: Works responding to her experience of current social trends and developments in Pacific cultures and community at the City Gallery.
They had the opportunity to attend a floor talk given by Cerisse Palalagi and curator Reuben Friend viewed the exhibitions Hauaga (Arrivals) by John Pule and Wax'n Lyrical also on at the City Gallery.
They Visited Paperskin The art of Tapacloth at Te Papa and attended a floor talk given by its curator Sean Mellon and Maud Page and also attended Pataka Museum of Arts and Culture, exhibitions included Double Vision - when artsists collaborate, Carving Muskets - Pu Whakairo, A Still Life is a Theatre - Susan Wilson, Looking Glass: reflecting ideas, and Eloquence - Laureates of the Pacific, Heritage and the Environment.
