DANSE exhibition by Niki-Hastings McFall
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011The opening of multimedia artist Niki Hastings-McFall’s DANSE was a very successful and illuminating event. It was proudly supported by Tautai Contemporary Pacific Arts Trust, Phyllis and Fleur Caterers and Coopers Brewery
The solo exhibition addresses themes of faith, resurrection, redemption, reincarnation, life, death, love and loss with her use of pre-loved and out of date materials.
It is a corpus of work that displays as much the conceptual paradigms that Hastings-McFall investigates as well as demonstrates the skill and aesthetic decision making involved in her practice which makes her one of New Zealands leading Contemporary Pacific Artist.
The show is at Artstation and runs from March 2- 19, 2011. There is an accompanying catalogue which includes an interview of Hastings McFall and an essay by Dr Caroline Vercoe.
Also join Niki for an evening of art, from 6pm to midnight on Saturday, 12 March as part of the Auckland Arts Festival 2011 White Night events across Auckland’s museums and galleries.
