Artists throughout New Zealand are invited to submit proposals for exhibiting at the Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens.

Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens is a tranquil, peaceful oasis set in gardens on a rural property looking out to the Kaipara Harbour, 4km north of Kaukapakapa.

It features selected contemporary sculptures, created by established and emerging New Zealand artists, in a curated exhibition along a 1km trail through gorgeous gardens and bush.

This is a great opportunity for your work to be displayed in a setting that will create excellent exposure for you and will be conducive to generating sales of your sculptures.

You are invited to submit a proposal for a new or existing work(s), to be exhibited on a sale or return basis for a period of 6 months.

Please contact the curator, Sally Lush on email sculpture@plantsnz.co.nz

OPENING: 6-8pm, Thursday 14 May
EXHIBITION DATES: 15 May – 6 June 2009
PUBLIC PROGRAMME: Artists in conversation with Steven Ball: 12 – 1.30pm, Saturday 23 May

About the exhibition…
Streetwear designs from two Manukau artists, Ofa Mafi and Allen Vili,
will be on display at Fresh Gallery Otara during a new exhibition that
opens on 15 May. The South Style exhibition will display the designs
inspired by the fashion and style of Manukau youth.

A participant in last year’s Villa Maria Cult-Couture event, Ofa Mafi
explores modern clothing with screen-printed messages and labelling.
Allen  Vili uses hoodies and other clothing as an unconventional canvas
to display his skill in spray-painting.

Also showing at Fresh Gallery Otara will be eight large-scale
photographs of Manukau youth showing off their personal style. The
striking images taken by Vinesh Kumaran
at this year’s ASB Polyfest  capture the inspiration behind the exhibition.
