Artist Residency | Australian National University

The Pacific Studies Program in the College of Asia and the Pacific and the Pasifika Australia outreach program are launching an exciting new initiative in 2012.   They are inviting performing and visual artists (including film-makers) of Pacific or South Sea Islander ancestry to submit applications for a 4 week residency at the Australian National University.

Applicants should provide a full cv, contact details of three referees, and a two page proposal outlining their arts project and the resources they would need to pursue it.  Applicants should also address how they might engage ANU scholars, undergraduate students, school students in the Australian Capital Territory and its region, local communities, and institutions such as the National Gallery of Australia, the National Museum of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery and the National Film and Sound Archive.

Successful applicants will be supported with an honorarium, accommodation costs and travel expenses. The timing of visits will be worked out by mutual agreement but they seek to make an inaugural appointment early in 2012.  Applications close February 24, 2012 and should be submitted electronically to nicholas.mortimer@anu.edu.au. Further details available from Dr Katerina Teaiwa: katerina.teaiwa@anu.edu.au, T: +61 26125 0857
