A living exhibition exploring Polynesian art and the body with featured artist Rosanna Raymond exhibiting a mix of fabrications, installation and acti.VA.tions. Raymond’s practice works with people, spaces and things to activate a dynamic relationship between them, to realise and reshape the ta-va duality. This is a choreographic process that extends beyond the frames of art, into both domestic routines and ritual protocols. It includes self-adornment and group enactments, activating space and collapsing time using the body and the genealogical matter, producing art, which communicates social relations, works of Art.
The exhibition will develop through a series of workshops, focusing on words and the body to adorn the exhibition, initiating a space for local artists, writers and dancers to come together to explore themes embedded in the exhibition. The participant’s work developed during this process will be curated in to the show cumulating in a grand closing which will showcase the new works.
