“Kia orana my name is Nina Oberg Humphries and I am currently a student at Canterbury University, studying towards a Bachelor of fine arts majoring in sculpture. Christchurch born and breed my work has always reflected my dual cultural heritage of Pakeha and Cook island. My work explores the juxtaposing nature between cultural tradition and popular culture to create a visual language which represents me and hopefully others as a second generation New Zealand born Pacific Islander. Influenced by dance, social politics and music I work with a variety of mediums with a recent focus on film. My aim for al my work
