The Auckland Festival of Photography 2017 features the 7th Annual Commission, this year presented by Baker+Douglas. Each year, an Auckland-based artist is commissioned to create a new body of work for exhibition during the Festival. This year’s commissioned artist is Janet Lilo.
In Radio New Zealand’s arts show, Standing Room Only (21 May 2017), Simon Morris is joined by one of the curators for the Auckland Festival of Photography 2017, Shahidul Alam and two photographers, Janet Lilo and Chris Corson-Scott. They discuss this year’s Identity theme; What is identity? How does is shape us and our work? …and why does is seem so important to talk about it these days? Find link here.
Janet Lilo b.1982 (Ngapuhi, Samoan & Niuean) works in digital photography, video and installation.
