UNWRITTEN, YET KNOWN:
A Journey of Intuitive Carving

Ana Teofilo

“This exhibition brings together works created across different stages of my practice. Unwritten speaks to the beginning of each piece. When I receive a wooden board, it begins as a blank surface, with no sketches or designs in mind and no predetermined colours. I enter the process intuitively, allowing the material and my instincts to guide what emerges.

Yet Known reflects what remains constant. Although I do not know the final design, I trust the rhythm of my hands, the carved repetitive patterns, and the colours chosen in response to feeling and presence. Hand applied glue dots catch the light, symbolising footsteps and milestones. Together, these works trace a journey of growth, unfolding one mark at a time.”

Exhibition runs 19 March – 15 May 2026
