Our first Creative Pearls programme for 2025 featured Jasmine Tuiā, a talented tapa maker who uses embroidery to explore Sāmoan material culture and memory.
Tapa Su’i was a workshop opportunity to deepen partipant’s connection to siapo traditions in a supportive and educational space. This was a hands-on session that nurtured passion and inspiration to continue the practice.
Through stitching and embroidery, participants explored Siapo Mamanu, learnt key siapo terminology, and gained insight into its cultural significance.
